Elections
Candidacy Requirements, Districts, Location

Each year there is an election of the Trustees, two of the five are elected in April of one year and three are elected the next year.  A notice is placed in the local Cass County Democrat well before the election.  For those desiring a place on the Village Board of Trustees, there is a Registration period mid-December to mid-January.  If you are wanting your name considered as a write-in candidate after the registration cutoff date, you name will not appear on the ballot, and even then, you have two weeks before the election to declare as a write-in candidate. The election is on the first Tuesday in April, and is run by the election board of Cass County.

The League of Women Voters of Kansas City, Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties posts its online voter guide at www.vote411.org.  This non-partisan resource gives candidates an opportunity to provide information on their background, qualifications, and priorities, so voters can make an informed choice on election day.

For the April 4, 2023 elections, the registration period is Tuesday, December 6, 2022, through Tuesday December 27, 2022.
