Mission of Loch Lloyd Emergency Management Plan

It is the Mission of the Loch Lloyd Emergency Management Plan to provide an immediate emergency response to any catastrophic event affecting The Village of Loch Lloyd.  The Program’s functionality is designed to provide a 24 to 48 hour “inside the gates” response to any incident.

Coordination with Cass County EMP (Emergency Management Plan) and SEMA (State Emergency Management Agency) resources are part of any extended action.  To this effect, the Program is able to connect you to the Village’s Emergency Management Notification System through a service known as Everbridge (CodeRED), and facilitates your connection to the Cass County Emergency Services Weather Alert Notifications.

Attempts have also been made to interface with the National Incident Management System (NIMS).  Standard NIMS terminology may be altered as responsibilities of our volunteer “Commanders” need to be consolidated.

Specifics regarding activation of these services can be found in the Welcome Letter forwarded from the EMP Manager when you arrived in the Village.

We welcome any and all volunteers to help with our organization. Please contact us at emergency@villageoflochlloyd.org if you have questions or would like to help.

Welcome to your new home and The Village of Loch Lloyd!

Cass County Emergency Notification System

Cass County (Missouri) Emergency Notification system is a free service provided by the Cass County Emergency Services Board through Everbridge.  This service alerts our citizens of severe weather events, environmental or man-made disasters, search and rescue operations, and major crime incidents in their immediate area.  Citizens will be notified of such emergencies via a recorded message on their landline, wireless phone, text message, or emails.  The emergency messages will only be sent by an authorized 9-1-1 Dispatcher.  The weather warnings are generated by the National Weather Service through the Everbridge system from the number 816-253-8966.

We recommend all citizens enroll individually to ensure notifications are received on each device correctly.  For example, a family of four will create four accounts, one for each member that wants to receive notifications.  Do not use the same telephone number or email address on multiple accounts.  If you list all family members contact information on the same account, once the first message is received the system will stop making notifications and the rest of the numbers listed in the account will not be notified.  Thus the need for separate accounts for each family member.

Please keep in mind the following when creating an account:
1. If you have trouble signing into your account or don’t remember if you have an account please call 816-887-1953.  Please do not create an additional account if you already have an account.

  1. If you create an account with multiple addresses, when you receive the alerts you will not know which address the alert is for.
  2. If you create an account without a valid Cass County Missouri address or no address at all, that account will be deleted and you will not receive alerts.
  3. If you create an account without a method for notifications to be delivered, that account will be deleted and you will not receive alerts.

This link also has this information and your residents can sign up or sign in to their accounts.  If you would like me to add the new residents, just let me know.

FEMA and SEMA Updated Flood Plain Maps

FEMA and SEMA are putting together updated flood plain maps. These maps are used to determine, (i) whether a homeowner/business property is required to have flood insurance, (ii) whether a particular property is insurable for flood insurance, (iii) and whether a particular property is developable. These maps are updated regularly.

The Village will provide a copy of the letter to the developer and to each of the HOAs. We’re posting this for individual property owners to review who may be affected by changes in the flood plain maps by FEMA/SEMA.

If you have any questions, please contact SEMA’s flood plain engineering and mapping section manager Sydney Roberts at sydney.roberts@sema.dps.mo.gov (573-526-9383) or FEMA’s project officer Andy Megrail at andy.megrail@fema.dhs.gov (816-283-7982.
